3rd Generation touch - Awesome, Only One Complaint

Apple did great with the 3rd Generation touch. It uses one of today's most advanced interfaces, touch screen technology. That alone creates an amusing and entertaining multi-media player. But no, Apple added and excellent quality screen for videos and made it so you can watch your favorite videos in widescreen format. I haven't had a chance, yet, to watch an actual movie on my Touch, but I'm sure it would be a quality experience considering the excellent quality of the YouTube and PodCast videos I have watched.

The 3rd Generation touch is realatively user friendly, although one thing I did find that was rather silly was that to get to the user guide, you had to connect to wi-fi and in that user guide was an explanation on how to connect to a Network. Besides that I figured out the rest of buttons and controls myself, and easily being able to go back to the home page makes testing unknown controls that much easier.

The apps on this device are amazing. Even the free apps are quite good, one of the best being able to get on FaceBook. Safari is pretty easy to use and is quite fast considering the size of the 3rd Generation touch. These two combined make the Touch able to keep a geeky, gadget-liking guy like me occupied for hours, which is the Touch's downfall in my opinion.

The Touch will allow you to listen to music for quite a long while, as long as that's all you're doing. If you want to play around with 3D apps for a couple hours you'll wind down your battery in a matter of about 3-4 hours depending on wether you're using the external speaker and how bright your screen is. For all this, the saving grace is the charge time. To get a full battery from about 10% charge takes under 2-hrs. That, to me is pretty sweet. I do think that Apple might have been able to make the battery life of the 3rd Generation touch a little bit more efficient, but besides that I have no complaints on the Touch. Yet...

PS: I may suggest that if you're clumsy like me, and occasionally drop your device, you might want to buy a hard case and a clear, plastic cover for the screen, niether of which hinder your abilities to use the iPod that I've found.
